How often will ORL send me a bill?

We will send you a bill each month. We send out our bills by electronic mail on or before the 5th of each month and payment is due by the 15th of each month.

If you prefer to receive a printed bill through the US Mail rather than an electronic bill through email, we can certainly do this for you, but we must charge an additional $5.00 per month to cover mailing costs and the additional time this requires from our staff to prepare and send printed invoices.

Does ORL bill insurance companies?

No, we do not bill insurance companies.

We will send you monthly invoices that you should pay and then submit those same invoices to your insurance company to seek reimbursement if you desire. Our invoices are very detailed and include all of the information your insurance company should need.

Immediately below, we have included a sample invoice so that you can see the level of detail we will include in your monthly invoices.

What should I expect to pay each month for consulting services and do the monthly costs remain steady throughout my child's intervention, or do they change?

While how much we bill for each activity and the activities that we bill for remain the same across the course of your child's intervention, the monthly costs to your family should decline as intervention proceeds.

Below we included graphs of the consulting costs several of our families pay each month. We provide you this information solely as an example of what you might expect to pay each month for our consulting services. Please do not look at these data as guarantees as to how much intervention will cost your family.

You will notice that the price that families typically pay for our consulting services decreases over time down to a maintenance level of approximately $750.00 per month. This decrease in costs results from the Therapists working with the families' children finishing their training with us. As the Therapists who work with your child become more and more skilled and complete our staff training procedures, we can spend a bit less time with your child's team without affecting the quality of intervention your child receives. This ability to reduce the time we spend with your child's team reduces the total cost you pay each month for our services.

This first graph shows the consulting costs associated with one 9-year old client. We have worked with this client since January of 2001. Our Consultant and Program Manager travel to see the client for 1.5 hours per visit. The child has a moderate level of autism, and we trained one therapist to work with him. These costs do not include the money the family paid the Therapist for her time.

This second graph shows the consulting costs associated with a 3-year old client. Fabrizio/Moors Consulting has worked with this client since August of 2002. Our Consultant and Program Manager travel to see the client for 45 minutes per visit.

You will notice that the client's in-home consulting costs started to decrease from September of 2002 to November of 2002, but then the costs began to rise again from December 2002 to January of 2003. This increase in costs occurred because both of the therapists left the child's program at the same time-each therapist left for personal reasons that had nothing to do with her work with Fabrizio/Moors Consulting-and we began training two new therapists.

After March of 2003, the costs again began to decrease steadily as the client's therapists progressed in their training. We present this client's cost data to you as an example of the importance of finding and retaining quality therapists who will stay in your child's program for several months or years. These costs do not include the money the family paid the Therapists for their time.

This third graph shows the consulting costs associated with a 3-year old client. This child had an in-home program that lasted from June of 2001 until March of 2003. We stopped working with the child in his home in March of 2003 because he no longer required intensive intervention.

Our Consultant and Program Manager traveled to see this client for between 1.5 and 3 hours per visit. While we trained a total of four therapists to work in this child' program, only one therapist left his program at a time. Also, his Lead Therapist remained with him throughout the course of his intervention.

Because his Lead Therapist remained constant, his family did not have to pay significantly higher consulting costs as we trained his new therapists because we could turn some of the training responsibilities over to his Lead Therapist. These costs do not include the money the family paid the Therapists for their time.

This fourth graph shows the consulting costs paid by one of our Vancouver, British Columbia clients. We began working with this client in June of 2003 when the child was approximately five years old. Our Program Manager (who lives in Vancouver, B.C.) traveled approximately 45 minutes (total per visit) to see the child weekly and our Consultant (who lives in Seattle) traveled approximately five hours to see the child. Each time our Consultant traveled, she saw between two and four families, which allowed her to divide the travel time across all of the client families she saw, and thus keep the travel costs within a reasonable amount.

Please remember, that these costs--as with all of the costs we cite throughout this document--are in US dollars.

Is there anything I can do as a parent to help keep consulting costs as low as possible?

Our strongest advice to help you keep consulting costs as low as possible is to find good Therapists and a good Lead Therapist and do what you can to support them as they work with your child. Beyond a doubt, the single factor that most frequently causes consulting costs to rise is a change in staff members.

While Therapists certainly do come and go (these are younger people, often college students, whose lives change often), finding a Lead Therapist committed to your child and your family, and who you think will be around for a while (1-2 years minimum) will greatly help you keep consulting costs as low as possible.
