activities prompts
- complete the in-text questions
for Tiemann & Markle, chapter 5
- complete the in-text questions
for Tiemann & Markle, chapter 3
- complete the in-text questions
for Tiemann & Markle, chapter 4
- following the examples Tiemann
& Markle gave you in Appendix 8, generate model concept analyses
for the following concepts assuming that you will be teaching these
concepts to children with autism in elementary school:
- complete steps one and two
in Tiemann & Markle's Appendix 6 (bottom of page 218) and be prepared
to present your rational sets to the class tomorrow. Do this for each
of the concepts listed above.
- of the 13 example draft
concept analyses Tiemann & Markle present in Appendix 7, select
four and identify in each what procedural errors the drafts contain
and exactly where the errors are located; also, please generate at least
one solution for each procedural error you detect (due next session)
- using the guidelines Tiemann
& Markle lay out in appendix 3, complete analyses of three different
chain tasks (due Session 5) children with autism often need to learn and be prepared to present these in class tomorrow;
select one chain task from each of the following areas:
- social skills
- self-help skills
- leisure skills
- note: for
each of the steps in at least one of your chain analyses, also
list the Big 6+6 motor skills that are components for that step
- (click here for this assignment's rubric)
- once you have completed
step analyses of three different chain tasks as described above, develop
model analyses (due next session) for each task (see pages 208-212 for example
model analyses)
- using the examples Tiemann
& Markle provide you in appendix 5, construct flow charts (due Session 5)
showing the sequence of decisions and consequent operations involved
in the following algorithmic tasks on which children with autism often
require remedial instruction and be prepared to present these in class tomorrow:
